Jim's Group In New Zealand

Jim Penman started the Jim's Group mowing lawns in Melbourne, Australia, in 1982. It is now the largest lawn mowing franchise in the world.

Since launching Jim's Mowing franchises in 1989, the growth of Jim’s Group, its business and services has been explosive.

The idea of bringing the Jim's Group Franchise concept to New Zealand was conceived by an ex patriot Kiwi who introduced the Jim’s system in Auckland in late 1992, with the help of a successful franchisee from South Australia.

Early recognition of the Jim's brand was obviously very low and it was to be two years before franchisee numbers really started to grow.

Recruitment became easier following the recommendations of other franchisees, which made an impact with new prospects. Then franchisee numbers really started to take off and with this fast growth operations moved to several regions of New Zealand.

By 1999 mowing franchisee numbers had increased dramatically. Franchise sales had been made in the Bay Of Plenty and Waikato regions and it was not too long before local Regional Franchisors were appointed. So, too, Christchurch and Wellington Regions were established and quickly added great numbers to the New Zealand total; to a point where other Jim’s Group services now saw the opportunity and started to establish themselves. The market acceptance of these new services was immediately reinforced by the huge brand recognition earned by Jim’s Mowing franchisees.

Growing More Jim’s Services

Today there are several Jim’s Group services, Mowing , Blind Cleaning , Domestic and Commercial Cleaning , Dog Wash , Fencing , Paving and Trees amongst them, established in New Zealand; with many others wanting to bring their proven Australian success to these shores, where the integrity, and identity, of the Jim’s Group Brand Name has been well and truly accepted by the New Zealand population.
